Tailwind Imaging provides high accuracy (< 1kg/h) methane leak detection deliverables using manned aircraft. We can cover thousands of square miles in one day. We can detect leaks on pipelines, single wells, and other assets.

OUR REPORTS PROVIDES LOCATION AND LEVELS

Tailwind provides customers with a confidential report showing the level of methane detected (kg/hour) and its location. We also provide an aerial photograph of the area of the leak.

ABOVE AND BELOW-GROUND LEAK TYPES

The laser system easily detects above-ground or below-ground leaks. For below-ground leaks, the soil must be saturated enough to release the methane.

EVEN FROM PINHOLE-SIZED LEAKS, OUR ACCURACY IS VERIFIED

The methane leak detection system can detect leaks down to .14 kg/hour, which some consider pinhole leaks. Our system has been tested and verified at the METEC test facility.

REGULATORY & FAA COMPLIANCE

The equipment is mounted onto our aircraft using F.A.A. (Federal Aviation Administration) approved mounting equipment and procedures. We comply with F.A.A. regulations. The camera mounts for the natural color cameras are also F.A.A. approved and S.T.C.’d (Supplemental Type Certificate).
